ZITF 2015: ZINWA stimulating trade through water (May 5, 2015)

The Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA)’s participation at the just ended Zimbabwe International Trade Fare (ZITF) was a priceless exercise which, among other things, provided the perfect interactive platform where various stakeholders including ordinary members of the public got the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the Authority’s mandate and operations.

The fact that water is arguably the single most important resource to human development was evident as many people from all walks of life visited the Authority’s stand with a myriad of questions and complaints.

However, besides asking questions and making complaints, it was also heartening to note that people registered some positive and constructive contributions in the comments book.

Over and above that, this year’s ZITF provided a rare opportunity for the Authority to interact and create mutually beneficial business linkages with various players in the business community.

It was quite encouraging that a number of companies came to the Authority’s stand to share notes and showed genuine desire to do business with us. Such companies include those specialising in protective clothing, pipe manufacturing and other water related business.

As ZINWA continues to seek opportunities, the ZITF provided not just the ultimate platform for the necessary access to a wide range of stakeholders but it also facilitated business networking which can benefit the Authority significantly in the long term.
